The ConneXium has many applications, can be used for replacing hubs, transceivers and switches.
The ConneXium hub:
  • Can be used for transmitting signals between several media (ports). Hubs are plug and play devices that don't need to be configured by the user.
  • The use of hubs makes it possible to create the two following topologies: Star topology and Tree topology.
The ConneXium transceiver (Plug & Play):
  • Create fibre optic linear bus topologies, for devices with a twisted pair cable Ethernet connection.
  • Interface devices with a twisted pair cable Ethernet connection with a fibre optic cable.
  • Provide fibre optic connections for transmission in areas subject to interference (high levels of electromagnetic interference) and for long distance communications.
The ConneXium switch (Plug & Play):
  • Used to increase the limits of architectures based on hubs or transceivers, by separating collision domains.
  • Enable redundant architectures to be created on twisted pair copper ring or optical fibre.
  • Can also be managed remotely via SNMP or HTTP protocols for monitoring and diagnostic purposes.

The Advantys OTB (Optimized Terminal Block) network interface module with built- in Inputs/Outputs is very compact. Its modularity, by adding I/O expansions, can optimize an application by providing the necessary number of I/O. The Advantys OTB module connects directly to a fieldbus or communication network. The Advantys OTB network interface modules are available for CANopen and Modbus field buses, and for the Ethernet network. They are used to exchange data from the built-in I/Os and expansion module I/Os with the bus master or client.
Each network interface module with built-in I/O has:
  • 12 discrete inputs.
  • 6 relay outputs.
  • 2 transistor outputs with positive logic (source).
  • A 24 VDC power supply terminal block (Volt Direct Current).
  • Communication bus connectors.
  • Indicator LEDs to display the communication status and I/O status.
The EDS-205A/208A series are 5 and 8-port industrial Ethernet switches that support IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u/x with 10/100M full/half-duplex, MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing. The EDS-205A/208A switches provide 12/24/48 VDC (9.6 to 60 VDC), 18 to 30 VAC redundant power inputs that can be connected simultaneously to live AC/DC power sources. These switches have been designed for harsh industrial environments, such as rail wayside, highway, or mobile applications, or hazardous locations that comply with FCC, UL, and CE standards.
In addition, the  EDS-205A/208A switches have DIP switches for enabling or disabling broadcast storm protection, providing another level of flexibility for industrial applications.
  • IEEE 802.3 for 10BaseT.
  • IEEE 802.3u for 100BaseT(X) and 100BaseFX.
  • IEEE 802.3x for Flow Control.
  • Fiber Ports: 100BaseFX ports (SC/ST connector, multi-mode, single-mode).
  • RJ45 Ports: 10/100BaseT(X) auto negotiation speed, Full/Half duplex mode, and auto MDI/MDI-X connection.
  • DIP Switches: Enable/Disable broadcast storm protection.
  • LED Indicators: Power, 10/100M (TP port), 100M (fiber port).
